When it is that one is upon the banks of the New River Lagoon which is located over in the north central Belize area, one will be sure to find the most impressive Lamanai Mayan ruins.

Lamanai is a place which one boast of its certainty to deserve being mentioned among the top Maya sites in all of Belize.

Among the largest in all of the country, is this ancient ceremonial center. For the city, the occupation span was longer than it had been at most other Mayan settlements that there were.
