Exploring the Caves of the Mayan Underworld

If Egypt has its pyramids full of sacrifices and treasures, the Mayans who lived in Belize had their caves to put their treasures in. It is interesting to note that in Mayan sacrifices, the treasures were smashed into pieces. This is because they consider all things as animate so they will have to smash the ritual sacrifices into pieces to release the spirits.
