Name of your website?

Belize Travel Adventure

Your name?

Dorian Rivero

Your Location (city, etc)

Belize

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Belize Travel Adventure is a small family owned and operated tour company. We cater to the travel needs of those visiting Belize whether by land, air or sea. The beautiful country of Belize has a lot to offer, and we at Belize Travel Adventure invite and welcome travelers from all over the globe to come and experience it all.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

The main reason is a love of our country and wanting to show visitors the wonderful things, places and people that comprises Belize. We wanted to help everyone visiting Belize to create wonderful memories that would last a lifetime. Having a website enables us the reach out across the globe.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Our first website is http://www.belizetraveladventure.bravehost.com and we created it in January 2008.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Coming up with the name was a family effort and we wanted to include the destination in the name.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The difference with our company is that we LOVE what we do. We also offer PRIVATE tours. Many times tour guides and operators offer tours but these are for as many people as they can get in the one job. We want our visitors to feel safe, relaxed and as if they are among family. We are also family based and are willing to work with families of all sizes.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our eventual goal is to become well known worldwide as a professional tour company with whom everyone will want to work with. We also want a company that will help to offer employment to fellow Belizeans who share our passion for travelling and touring and to eventually have a successful company that can be proudly passed on to our children.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

The monies and time we have invested have been well worth it even though there have been "slow days".Our aim is to continue to build on.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Having an unlimited development budget would mean that we could let our creative juices flow freely, being even more creative with our services. We would be able to reach out even further to possible clients.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We would definitely be able to keep up.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

As a newly developing company our greatest headache has been the slow process of getting our ads out and seen by as many people as possible. The changing economy has also played a role in the numbers of visitors we've been seeing.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The greatest challenge for us has been the wait. Giving people the chance to view our website and contact us. We've been told that things are slow going at first, but that eventually it all picks up. We are waiting for that "it all picks up" part.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

So far the various methods we've been trying have been slow at being successful, so we are hoping that THIS will prove to be the one.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I guess we expected that as soon as we created a website people/travellers would automatically see it and know that we are the best choice and contact us. We had HIGH expectations and have had to adjust them a bit.Our standards however, have not and will not be lowered.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We've had the website for just a few months now, and we understand that things take time so we have given ourselves a five(5) year time limit. If after five years things have not improved then we will make any necessary changes.

Besides the headaches and unexpected costs do you believe that this was worth it all?

From our second year as a tourist guides we realized that not only do we love what we do, but we are also good at what we do - entertaining and informing/educating visitors about Belize. It is truly worth it and we will continue to do our best.

What is your website address?
