Belize - safe for traveling

By Rob Garcia at 04/23/09 12:31

Like many cities in the world, there is always a part of any city that would be harmful and dangerous for passerby's, visitors and newcomers. Belize City is no exception. Of course, it has some beautiful and interesting parts and also there are streets and alleys that are not recommended for visitors to go through. This kind of nature certainly should not put a total negative impact that Belize is not safe for travelers. The country of Belize on a whole is an exceptional destination for tourist to visit today. It's once capital, Belize City is of course the entrance and exit to such a beautiful jewel, and in no way gives the great experience of what the total country would have to offer to visitors.

Yes, most people would say "try to avoid Belize City throughout your visit". Yes, I must agree to some extent on such comment, but on the other hand following the ride guidelines would certainly take you through the city safe. There are ways to go through Belize City that most budget travelers has to know in order to move on to their next destination either going to Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker or just catching a bus leading out to Guatemala or Mexico.

A lot of safety measures has been implemented in order to make Belize City a safer place for visitors to go through easily. Today, we have tourism police officers, along with Belize Defense Force staff always stationed on the main streets to keep visitors and tourist safe. This is more just a precautionary measure for safety of our visitors. There are also a lot of taxi service and tour operators that you can make pre-arrangements with for your transfers.

Belize has a lot to offer to any visitors, from traveling single with a companion or with family and friends, there is a lot to see and do in this beautiful country. Bear in mind we are bordered by the crystal clear Caribbean Sea and by historic Mexico and Guatemala. For Foreigners to wish to travel to Belize I do recommend to book through an informative Travel agent to guide you through your vacation properly. Here is a link to follow for a safe journey to my beautiful Belize.

the whole family had a stop off there on our cruise. we came back from town and my wife and i got shook down by the police at the ports shops. they wanted money from us. very terrifying ...i will NEVER go back and it has caused us to not step out of the country for vacation again....we kissed the usa soil when we got home. DO NOT GO TO BELIZE...VERY CURRUPT AND DANEROUS.
